A Message for Parents ...

I've been helping my own kids with music practice for twelve years. I wish I had known then what I know now. It would have made the journey a lot easier. Together we have experienced a wide variety of teaching methods and different instruments.

For the last eight years I have also been teaching violin from my own studio and at two of Sydney's independent schools. I have taught a wide variety of students and seen a tremendous range of approaches that different parents take.

My aim in producing this audio CD is to give parents the benefit of my experience (from the combined perspective of music parent and instrumental teacher) so that they can avoid the many pitfalls and make the process of learning music quicker, fun and more effective.

The CD is easy listening not an academic treatise. It contains many practical hints to try with your children. Parents frequently tell me that their child's music practice has been revolutionised by putting into practice just one of the hints from this CD.

May I wish you joy and success as you encourage your child with their music. Happy listening.

"Elizabeth Robinson's ingenious CD, Succeed With Music, shows YOU how to practise happily with your child. Her experience as a mother and teacher brings you a multitude of ideas through her humorous and warmly uplifting script.  This is a MUST for all parents.

— Erica Booker-Thomas  (piano NSW)

"Elizabeth Robinson's CD 'Succeed with music' is a wonderful resource which I will be recommending to all of my music families this year! As a piano teacher and music parent I know that we all need constant encouragement to keep our eyes on the goal. We all want our students to achieve the joy and motivation which success brings.

"Elizabeth's sincerity and dedication to her topic shine through as she speaks to us in her beautifully modulated voice. She reminds us of many things that we've heard before, and perhaps forgotten, but much more she gives us many new ideas and helpful hints to make the student's journey so much easier. Elizabeth speaks to us firmly, with warm advice which I, for one, plan to follow!"
                                     — Monica Christian (piano South Australia)

"'Succeed with Music', is an excellent resource for teachers and a much needed aid for parents who are struggling to get their children to practise their musical instruments. It presents many useful tips for practice technique which are clearly explained and practical. Elizabeth also deals with problems such as children wanting to quit their instrument, or not doing regular practice, by explaining the attitude needed to succeed with music. It is highly recommended."
